Interactive base layouts by Town Hall (TH8 → TH18) — war, farming and trophy designs you can explore building by building, with defense ranges and what each base is weak to.
“Sentinel 18”
An anti-3-star war layout for Town Hall 18: the Town Hall and Clan Castle sit in the walled core, key defenses are split across compartments so one spell package can't clear them, and Air Defenses are spread into separate quadrants against zap-quake.
“Core 17”
A hybrid trophy layout for Town Hall 17: the Town Hall stays central for ladder defense while storages ride the inner compartments, balancing trophies and loot for everyday play.
“Stockade 16”
A farming layout for Town Hall 16: the Dark Elixir storage holds the core with the other storages split into separate compartments, so a single breach never reaches all your loot. The Town Hall sits toward the edge

A war base (a.k.a. anti-3-star base) is built for Clan Wars and CWL, where the only thing that matters is stopping the attacker from taking all three stars. The Town Hall sits deep in the core alongside your strongest defenses, walls are compartmentalised to break up troop pathing, and splash damage is spread so no single spell or funnel wipes your defensive core.
Design principles
Protect your storages and Dark Elixir.
A farming (resource) base is built to keep your loot. It buries Gold, Elixir and especially the Dark Elixir storage in the centre, while the Town Hall is often pushed toward the edge or a corner — you don't mind giving up a star for a shield if it saves your resources. Ideal while you're grinding upgrades.
Design principles
Balance loot protection with trophy defense.
A hybrid base splits the difference between farming and trophy pushing: storages and the Town Hall both sit reasonably central, so you defend trophies while still protecting most of your loot. The default home base for players who ladder and farm at the same time.
Design principles
Defend attack-by-attack at the top of the ladder.
In Legend League every defense counts toward your daily trophy total, so these bases are pure anti-3-star (and increasingly anti-2-star) designs against the current top-tier attack strategies. They rotate constantly as the meta shifts and are usually built for the very latest Town Halls.
Design principles
Fair, balanced defense while a new Town Hall is half-built.
A progress base is what you run right after upgrading your Town Hall, when your new defenses aren't maxed yet. It spreads what you have evenly rather than committing to an aggressive anti-3-star core, keeping you competitive while you upgrade the new tier's buildings.
